Highly skilled engineers and technicians use state-of-the-art product design technologies. LUFKIN has equipped each design engineer with the most advanced CAD station using Pro/Engineer. Operations performed include 3D solid modeling and assembly, parametric design and automation, mass properties, etc.
Finite element analysis is used to validate calculations of gear teeth stresses, and casing stresses and deflections.
Rotor dynamics analysis is performed to determine damped rotor response, bearing stability, critical speeds and mode shapes.
In addition, many gear analysis and rating programs have been developed to ensure each design meets or exceeds customer requirements and strictly adheres to industrial standards (ISO, DIN, API, AGMA, etc.).
